Event Introduction

2025 Seoul Light Gwanghwamun is Seoul's representative light festival, a large-scale media art exhibition held across Gwanghwamun Square. Under the theme "Gwanghwa, Breathing with Light," the event will feature works by world-renowned media artists, citizen participation programs, and a New Year's countdown event. Key features include the Gwanghwamun Media Facade Show, the Transportation Corridor light sculptures, and the Sejong Pavilion media art, including a Gwanghwamun version of Doug Aitken's "SONG 1." There will also be a "Ilwolobongdo Wish Wall" program, where citizens can participate by completing wish tiles. A countdown to welcome the New Year in 2026 will take place at midnight on December 31st. This event will combine cutting-edge media technology with world-class content, offering citizens and tourists a unique experience of ending the year with light and music and welcoming the new year.
