Event Introduction

As part of the 2025 Idle Space exhibition, "Echoes of the Earth - Hertz & Doe," held at the Buk Seoul Museum of Art, Hertz & Doe will share its new proposals through performance and discussion. This event goes beyond a human-centered auditory experience and proposes a new listening attitude that delicately observes the diverse sounds of the Earth. Hertz & Doe artists Moon Kyu-chul and Hwang Sun-jung, along with special guest Jo Ye-bon, will present a live performance, unfolding rhythms and sound flows within the context of a planetary listening experience. Through this, they will introduce new works and explore the possibilities of expanded auditory experiences. Following this, they will share their insights into multichannel sound and listening attitudes with Pia Baltazar, broadly exploring their meaning. Through sound, they will awaken new senses and experience the resonance of an expanded "sound planet." Hertz & Doe is a research lab, label, and artist collective focused on exploring and experimenting with the changing sound environment and listening experience. Jo Ye-bon is a composer and sound artist who explores the physical transformations of sound and its cultural meaning, and contemplates new possibilities for listening.
