Event Introduction
The Gwangju National Museum is hosting a special exhibition commemorating the opening of its Ceramic Culture Center, "Shaping a Blue World: Goryeo Hieroglyphic Celadon." Hieroglyphic celadon, shaped like human figures, animals, and plants, is a representative genre of Goryeo celadon. Long admired for its beautiful hues and exceptional form, it is a prime example of Korean celadon's technical achievements and unique aesthetic. This special exhibition explores the diverse stories of hieroglyphic celadon, from its production and enjoyment to its materials, uses, and its use in religious contexts. We invite you to a world that the Goryeo people enjoyed and cherished a thousand years ago. ※ Closed: January 1, 2026 (Thursday, New Year's Day) / February 17, 2026 (Tuesday, Lunar New Year's Day)
